Keep That Whole Tailgate Protected.
It happens. Sometimes you have to haul wood, pipes, or other cargo that’s a little longer than your truck bed. There’s no shame it in laying on your tailgate- as long as you’re using a Dee Zee Tailgate Protector of course.
Constructed of Non-Rusting Brite-Tread Aluminum our tailgate protector even fits over those wimpy factory plastic covers adding another layer of rugged protection.
Protect the inside of your truck's tailgate against damage from shifting lumber, falling debris, and even those rookie fork lift operators at the local hardware store who can’t seem to guide the darn pallet onto the back of the truck bed without sliding it across your tailgate- I’m looking at you Dan!

All trucks are coming with plastic direct from the factory and they in shapes and designs that do not make it very easy to make metal versions to go over them. We looked into the 15 F150 when it came out and the models that we had molded did not look or fit good.

If there is a factory tailgate cap on the vehicle our protectors are designed to install over the factory piece.

AdminDeeZee2 –
Due to the way the Ram designed their tailgate, we can’t bend and mold a protector to fit over the lip. This design also doesn’t allow for a good use for screws so we use a high bond 3M tape.
AdminDeeZee2 –
There are more trucks that come with a plastic factory tailgate protector. If the truck came from the factory with one our tailgate protector is designed to fit over it.
