The days of behemoth ladder racks and permanent cargo systems are over!
The Invis-A-Rack Cargo Management System allows you to have a functional ladder rack that can be collapsed down into the bed rail casings when not in use. Whether you have the need to haul the occasional load from the home improvement store, or depend on a cargo system daily- you can trust the Invis-A-Rack by Dee Zee to be up to the challenge.
Goes from invisible to invaluable in a matter of seconds.
Made from lightweight aluminum extrusions, this innovative cargo system has non-rusting strength sealed by a texture black powder finish. High quality mechanisms ensure to last the life of your truck and provide a sturdy frame when erected. Installation is made easy with heavy-duty clamps to secure the unit to your truck bed rails.
With a weight capacity of 500 pounds, you can rely on the Invis-A-Rack to withstand heavy-duty use. Construction workers can now haul lumber and ladders by day, and escort the family to dinner and a movie by night. Outdoor enthusiasts now have a system to effectively transport their canoe to the river on the weekends without attaching a bulky rack system that is a permanent fixture to the truck.
As shown on TV, the Invis-A-Rack was intended for production in the USA and the inventor, Donny McCall, would not accept anything less. AdminDeeZee2 –
You will need access to the under side of the bed rail for the clamp system of the Invis-A-Rack installation.
AdminDeeZee2 –
Unfortunately we do not offer an option of using screws for installation through the bed rail. This product is installed with the ability to be removed easily and not have holes in the top of the bed rail.
AdminDeeZee2 –
We have not been informed that it works with the roll-n-lock cover.
AdminDeeZee2 –
There is nothing that keeps the rack down except the weight of the extrusion. Unless you are traveling over really rough surface it doesn’t really pop up.
AdminDeeZee2 –
Most manufacturers list truck beds as 6′ but they measure 6’5″. The Invis-A-Rack will almost all of the bed rail. It is universal so it does have to fit GM, Ford, and Ram. It takes a specific size cover that Truxedo makes. Contact them for availability for your vehicle.
AdminDeeZee2 –
No. The clamps are used for installation.
AdminDeeZee2 –
It will not. Because of the way it mounts the cover has to be narrower. Truxedo does make a few Lo Pro covers to work with the Invis-a-Rack.
AdminDeeZee2 –
No it will not. There is a clamp that comes off the extrusion and goes to the underside of the bed rail.

Yes the Invis-A-Rack will fit the new SuperDuty.
AdminDeeZee2 –

AdminDeeZee2 –
As long as there is nothing on the inside part of the bed rail and access to the underside of the bed rail the rack will work. Review the instructions for a clearer picture of where it mounts to.

AdminDeeZee2 –
You will need to contact TruXedo to see if they still make the cover. All hardware would come with the cover. The rack depending on bed length is DZ951550, DZ951600, or DZ951800.
AdminDeeZee2 –
Not sure. Truxedo did make a lopro cover to work with the invis-a-rack. Contact them to verify fitment.
AdminDeeZee2 –
The only cover that worked with the Invis-A-Rack was a LoPro from Truxedo. Get in contact with them to see if there is still one to fit.
AdminDeeZee2 –
The only one that worked was a Low Pro Truxedo. Not sure if they are still making them to work with our rack. Contact them for that information.
AdminDeeZee2 –
The ladder rack uses the bed rail for installation. The best option would be a chest style toolbox.
AdminDeeZee2 –
Unfortunately the rack will not work with a Bakflip cover.
StevieV –
I have this on a 2015 F150 – I didn’t want a rack where I couldn’t pull into a parking garage. I found this one and was excited to try it out. It fits my 5.5 bed just right and when assembled together it is nice and sturdy. I think I have had at least 500 pounds on it for a short trip from Home Depot to my house.
Adjustment – I drilled 4 holes through the housing and the frame of the rack. Into this I inserted a quick release pin. The reason behind this was that I was driving down the street and the things rattle around and one popped up into a partially locked position. At this point I determined I needed to secure the movable parts down while driving. With the quick release pins in place I can pretty much go off roading without issues.
This is a great product and does what it says. I can drive around town without them up and when I need a rack it is available to me in less than a minute or two.
Krystal Hallman –

AdminDeeZee2 –

AdminDeeZee2 –
Unfortunately no. Truxedo did make specific lo pro soft cover to work with the rack on certain vehicles. Check with them to see if they offer one for your application. The cover has to be narrower to work with the rack.
AdminDeeZee2 –
It does not work with just any cover. Truxedo for awhile was making a specific lo pro style to fit with the rack. You can check with them to see if they have an application for your vehicle.
AdminDeeZee2 –
We have not test fitted it beyond 2004. I cannot positively say it will fit. Check the instructions to see if the installation will work on the 02 bed.
AdminDeeZee2 –
Yes. Contact our customer service department at 800-779-2102.
AdminDeeZee2 –
DZ951600 should fit. Only issues would be if there is anything on the inside edge of the bed rail that could interfere with installation. You can review the installation before purchase on our site in the upper left corner. Click on the link and then enter the part number.
AdminDeeZee2 –
The Truxedo cover was specifically designed to work with the rack system. You would have to contact them to see if they still offer one. The rack system has a flange that sits against the inside of the bed rail. Not sure it would work with Bak.
AdminDeeZee2 –

AdminDeeZee2 –
The Invis-A-Rack will not work with a crossover toolbox. Will work with a chest box that sits on the floor of the bed.
Dave Leimert –
Sets up and collapses into storage in seconds. Looks good when stowed. I use it for hauling my resin fishing boat or my two kayaks. Frees up room in the truck box when holidaying with the travel trailer. My only gripes.. I wish there were security locks of some sort to prevent theft and the plastic end caps came off first year I owned it. Doesn’t affect the functionality but doesn’t look as good without them.
AdminDeeZee2 –
Fitment is based on the bed length.
AdminDeeZee2 –
Depending on bed length either the DZ951600 or DZ951800 would be the application numbers.
AdminDeeZee –
The Invis-A-Rack will need to be installed with the mounting hooks that are provided. We do not recommend bolting the rail directly to the truck bed.

ARTHUR –
As truck bodies get higher, there are fewer racks that will allow me to get under my 8′ garage doors and this rack offered a solution. I’ve used it half a dozen times to carry 2-300# of lumber and it worked fine. I would say 500# is pushing the racks, The rack erects fine in a couple minutes. The buttons are stiff and have to pushed way in to work, but once you get the nack of it work great . I have made a couple of cross bars out of 2x3s to extend the width and carry two 80 pound canoes on it. I’m not sure how it would fare on a long trip down a rough dirt woods road. The big bonus is I get better gas milage on my truck with the rack down and the tonneau cover…..at least 1 mpg. Works for my limited needs…… but it’s not a TracRac.
AdminDeeZee2 –
I am not sure that it will fit properly. The main housing pieces of the Invis-A-Rack are 33″ in length.
AdminDeeZee2 –
You will want to look at either DZ951551 or DZ951601. These would be the options for an import midsize application.

AdminDeeZee2 –
When the rack is in the use position it is 27″ tall from the bed rail.
AdminDeeZee2 –
I am not sure how to secure it permanently. It could be stolen but will take some time to accomplish this. If a thief wants something bad enough they will get it done.
AdminDeeZee2 –
Only toolboxes that will work in conjunction with the Invis-A-Racks are the utility chest. Crossovers will not work because the rack uses the bedrail for installation.

Dave Basch –
